The act of gift-giving takes on special significance when directed towards those who have chosen the path of peace after being involved in conflict. The initiative aims to bridge gaps, heal wounds, and foster reconciliation by reaching out to former rebels and their families during this celebratory time of year.
Gifts are not merely material possessions; they symbolize hope, renewal, and the promise of a brighter future. By extending gestures of kindness to those who have undergone a transformative journey towards peace, we collectively contribute to rebuilding trust and creating a positive environment for all.
The 37 Friends Rescued and their families received grocery packs, kitchenware from winning the games and singing contest. Their children also received loot bags, 42 school uniforms and 44 school shoes.
Through her opening remarks, Peace 911 Focal Person Atty. Jonah Margarette F. Presto emphasizes that they should breakdown barriers and build bridges of understating to transform lives and bring about positive change.
As the City Mayor’s Office – Peace 911 commence this endeavor of sharing gifts, its aspiration is to generate beneficial impact that initiates ongoing support to the government, empathy and cultivation of a strong sense of peaceful community.
