The 1003^rd Infantry (RAPTOR) Brigade in coordination with the City Government of Davao conducted the “Victory Declaration – Ending the insurgency, Winning Peace in Davao City”, last March 24, 2022 in Rizal Park, Davao City.

During the ceremonial presentation, Brigadier General Consolito P. Yecla, Commander of 1003^rd Infantry (RAPTOR) Brigade declared their area of responsibility (AOR) as zero insurgency and the first brigade to completely eliminate all New People’s Army (NPA) units.

The 10th Infantry (Agila) Division Commander, Major General Nolasco A. Mempin also said that it is during the term of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, with the support of the leadership of Davao City Peace 911 and National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), that the issues regarding the exploitation of the CPP-NPA-NDF were addressed.

There were 78 former rebels of the dismantled Sub-Regional Committee (SRC) 5, with its dismantled Guerilla Front (GF) 55 and Sub-Regional Guerilla Unit (SRGU), now called as Peace Champions, were given cash assistance led by Davao City Acting Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte.

Davao City Acting Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte praised the Philippine Army in dismantling the communist terrorist groups, who were operating in the city. He also thanked the Peace Champions for trusting in the government, “Sa mga surrenderees, I just want to say, gusto nako nga mahibaw-an ninyo, katong pag surrender ninyo, you have already been forgiven. Katong pag surrender ninyo, nisalig napud mi sa inyoha. If you trusted us enough na para mu-surrender mo, nga musalig mo sa amoa, ning salig nami daan sa inyoha. So, salamat kaayo sa inyong pagsalig sa amoa.”.
