The orientation for Barangay Infrastructure Projects and Barangay Development Council Activation was necessary for all the barangays of Davao City for them to be reminded on how to start projects and how to comply with the documentations, as well as the activation of their Barangay Development Council.

The event was hosted by Peace 911 headed by its Focal Person, Ms. Mary Aileen T. Mabanding, and the speakers were the representatives from the following government offices:

·  City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) represented by Engr. Gina R. Santos, Acting Division Head- CPDO Plans and Programs Division,

·  City Engineer’s Office (CEO) represented by Ms. Marygel J. Babia, Technical Assistant on Planning and Development and Mr. Paul John Juson, Technical Assessment II, and

·  Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) XI represented by Engr. Lilibeth M. Sarmiento, OIC-Assistant District Engineer-DPWH Davao City District Engineering Office (DCDEO) and Engr. Severo D. Baco Jr., Engineer II-DPWH DC II DEO.

The speakers discussed the Orientation on the Formulation / Updating of the Barangay Development Plan (BDP), Barangay Infrastructure Documentary Requirements and Process Flow Request, How to Request Barangay Projects, Documentary Requirements, Legal Matters and Project Naming, and Clarification on the Role of DPWH in the Barangay Infrastructure Projects.

The said orientation was also graced by the Barangay Cultural Community Affairs Division (BCCAD) Officer-In-Charge, Mr. Julius I. Villafuerte. It started last July 27, 2021 and ended on October 13, 2021. Out of the 182 barangays of Davao City, 138 barangays have attended or there was 76% attendance.
